The Peterhouse Centre is a fully accessible building, offering peace and tranquility in the heart of Walthamstow, North East London. There are good transport links, and on-street parking is available with a council permit.
We have two large rooms available to hire: the Hall (80-100 seated capacity), with an attached kitchen and separate coffee bar area; and the Hornbeam Room (30 seated capacity), with projector & screen, whiteboards, and kitchen facilities. The Hornbeam room is upstairs, but is accessible via a lift. The Beech Room is a great mid-sized room, also upstairs, that provides an ideal 'break away' space or setting for a smaller meeting. Downstairs we have three counselling and conversation rooms, Hawthorn, Holly, and Chestnut, which can be hired by the hour by qualified therapists.
The Peterhouse Centre is cleaned daily, and we are taking extra measures to ensure hygiene standards are maintained in line with the current COVID-19 advice. The centre is monitored by 24-hour CCTV and kept secure by a digital key-card system.

Our large Community Hall is approximately 10m x 12m. It is light and airy, and can seat 80 people around tables or 100 people in a theatre-style arrangement. There are two wall-mounted screens and wall-mounted speakers with an audio link. Plenty of chairs and tables are available for use, stored in sliding cupboards that run along one side of the Hall. There is ample space to accommodate bouncy castles.
The Hall opens onto the garden, which has a paved area leading onto a lawn and a wild garden. There is room to explore and space to enjoy the quiet tranquility of nature in the garden, which backs onto Epping Forest. Hall hire includes use of the outside garden.
The Hall has an attached kitchen, with two cookers and gas hobs, a microwave, two sinks, a large fridge freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and lots of space to prepare food. The attached kitchen can be hired for a small additional fee.
The Hall is available for private hire events from 12:30-10:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekday evening hires are also available from 4:30-10:30 pm.
Commercial - £45 per hour
Private / Not-for-profit - £35 per hour
Registered charity - £30 per hour
Weekend hire after 6:00 pm - £50 per hour
Kitchen hire - £20 per booking, not per hour
An indemnity deposit of £350 needs to be paid at least a week in advance of the event and will be returned within a week after the event, assuming that there are no problems.
Alcohol is permitted on the premises only by prior agreement and should not, in any circumstances, be available for sale/purchase. Please indicate in your application form if you wish to have alcohol at your planned hire event.
The Hornbeam Room
The Hornbeam Room is on the first floor, accessible via stairs or a lift. It is a light, airy room, with windows on two sides, one side looking into the forest. It is the perfect room for conferences or meetings and can comfortably seat up to 30 people. The Hornbeam Room contains a wall-mounted screen and we can provide a projector should you need one. There are plenty of chairs and tables, and whiteboards. It also has its own sink, closed away in a cupboard, and tea and coffee making facilities can be provided for your convenience. The lino floor can be easily cleaned, so it is a great room for arts and crafts activities.

The Beech Room
The Beech Room is on the first floor, accessible via stairs or a lift. It is a perfect “break-away” room. Beech offers an indoor space where you can be silent or talk on an intimate level. It is ideal for small meetings or interviews.
Commercial - £20 per hour
Private / Not-for-profit - £15 per hour
Registered charity - £11 per hour
If the Beech Room is hired as a therapy room (because all other therapy rooms are in use) the hourly charge is £11. All therapy bookings should start on the hour and end promptly to ensure subsequent users can make best use of the space. Therapy room bookings should be made for multiples of whole hours.
Our three downstairs therapy rooms, Hawthorn, Holly, and Chestnut, provide a comfortable and discreet setting for counselling sessions. They are tucked away through the reception area, behind a code-locked door. They are light and airy, but can be made more private by shutting the blinds.
